The president of the Maldives and 13 of his cabinet members hold a meeting 20 feet underwater to make a plea for the world to cut carbon emissions and to warn about climate change — the island nation lies only 7 feet above seawater, and would be completely submerged if the polar ice caps melt even a bit.  Unfortunately, a nation like the Maldives isn’t likely to have much swaying power on the issue, but at least this stunt has caught the eye of major news outlets.
